Asbestos Building Inspector and Management Planner Training Courses
Developed to meet all Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) requirements, the Building Inspection is designed to be taken over three consecutive days. the Building inspector is the pre-requsite course for the Asbestos Management Planner Course. Management Planning courses are designed to be taken in the next two days after the Inspector. The two courses may be taken individually. Hands-on lab sessions make up one-half of the Building Inspection course. This course is taken by individuals who employees of school personnel or building owners and are responsible for inspecting school buildings, or commercial or industrial facilities for asbestos containing material (ACM).
 
ASBESTOS BUILDING INSPECTOR
  • This three-day comprehensive course is designed to train persons to inspect buildings for asbestos containing materials (ACM), and to assess the condition of ACM and prepare reports of the findings. This course is required by the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) for accreditation as a Building Inspector.

    A 50 question, multiple choice examination will be administered at the end of both the Building Inspection course. Those with a passing score of 70% or better will be awarded a certificate of accreditation.
     
    The course fee includes all instructional materials , exam administration, and certificate.
     
     
    Asbestos Building Inspector Annual Refresher Training
  • This course is designed to be taken as half-day or four hour course. The course meets all the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) requirements for recertification. Included in these updates is a review of the Building Inspection duties under the US. Environmental Protection Agency (US. EPA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. In addition, this training will increase your understanding of recent developments in asbestos hazard assessment and control.

    This is an annual review. If you have been certified as a Building Inspector for one year or more, you MUST - BY LAW - take a re-certification course in order to maintain your accreditation and to be eligible for the renewal of your license.

     

    ASBESTOS BUILDING INSPECTOR REFRESHER

    Building Inspection is a half-day comprehensive review designed to update those persons trained in the inspection, assessment and preparation of reports for buildings with asbestos containing materials (ACM). This course is required by AHERA for reaccreditation as a Building Inspector.

    In addition, an update of the following topics will also be presented:
     
    • OSHA and EPA regulations ( including the new NESHAP standard)
    • Health and Safety Issues

     

    A multiple choice examination will be administered at the end of the Building Inspection course. Those with a passing score of 70% or better will be awarded a certificate of accreditation.
